U.S Passports: 52 Pages for the Price of 28

You may already be aware that the cost of obtaining a 28-page U.S. Passport has risen to $135 (from $100) and the cost of renewing a passport has risen to $110 from $75. In addition, it now costs $82 to get extra pages added to your passport (this used to be free). Did you know, however, that you now can get a new 52-page passport for the same price as a standard 28-page booklet? When completing the application to purchase or renew your passport (provided here by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs), simply check off “52 Page Book (Non-Standard)” when calculating the total cost of your purchase. This may be ideal for those that frequently travel abroad; you get more than twice the number of passport pages for the same price.
