Gayle -- We loved it! Odysseys lived up to our expectations. Our group was 20 and it was perfect size. We were in a full size bus (when we were on one) so everyone could have their own window seat (if they wanted).
Gayle & Sam -- Clothing: Both countries are very casual...no need for sport coats, etc. We took convertible hiking pants (3 pr each) and fishing-type shirts. For the nicer dinners, we packed 1 pair of slacks each and my husband took 2 golf shirts and I took 2 travel knit shells with jackets. We took wind/rain resistant jackets with hoods for outerwear and were very glad we did as we experienced what they call "100 year rains" while in the Red Center which was interesting. Almost didn't make it out of Alice Springs because of flooding!. Since we were there in Feb/March, it should be cooler for you in April.
We each had one 26" suitcase and a backpack and made out very well. Each took only 2 pair of shoes -- sturdy walking shoes and something to go with our "dress up" outfits. Oh, also took water shoes for the Great Barrier Reef (excellent).
Some of the hotels have guest laundries and we just washed out our hiking/fishing clothing in the shower and they were dry by morning. All hotels had irons/boards in the rooms, also.
Hope this helps.

Has anyone booked the May 2011 tour. We are looking forward to this trip and would appreciate any tips. Are there extra weight limits for the smaller planes from Cairns to Alice Springs?
Hi, Kathy --
We went on the airline's website (Qantas) and checked out the weight limits for domestic flights. We did adhere to their "rules", not sure about the others in the group. One thing that differs over there is that you are allowed to carry on liquids for domestic flights. So (for instance), if you buy a bottle of wine in the airport, it's ok to carry on plane.
