To travel is one of humanity’s most basic instincts. To explore, to learn, to discover – there are as many reasons to travel as there are destinations in the world to visit. And in this Summer 2026 issue of our quarterly News & Views newsletter, we highlight a few of our favorite reasons to head out on another adventure. Up first, a gallery of stunning on-tour photography, taken by our in-house travel experts. We asked seven Odysseys staffers to select an all-time favorite photo from their travels, and these shots from Patagonia to Istanbul and beyond showcase some of the finest reasons to travel: making memories, capturing indelible moments, and sharing our adventures with family and friends. Then it’s on to India with an insightful travelogue from Odysseys guest Peggy Bendel, written after returning from her recent Mystical India small group tour. From her detailed descriptions of a Sikh temple in Delhi, tiger-spotting in Ranthambore, and meeting gracious locals in Kathmandu, it’s clear that Peggy’s passion for travel stems from her desire to immerse herself in new cultures. In the spirit of discovering new cultures and destinations, we’ve recently announced four new tours to four separate continents so far this year. From the ancient wonders and cosmopolitan marvels of China and the many faces of Australia to the stunning scenery of the American West and the legendary lands of Jordan and Egypt, these tours provide endless new horizons to discover. Lastly, you’ll find a collection of our most essential travel knowledge. If the three pieces above highlight why we travel, let this compendium of tips and tricks answer the questions of how to travel. With the logistics out of the way, you are free to enjoy the whats, wheres, and whens of your next journey. As always, thank you for reading our News & Views, and we hope to welcome you on an Odysseys Unlimited small group tour in the near future. Sincerely,
Bruce A. Epstein |
