5 Tours Ideal for Summer Travel

January 25, 2024

Winter is in full swing and we hope that yours is full of magic and memories. But if you’re anything like us, you’re probably already looking ahead at your summer travel plans.

Below, we’ve collected five cool-climate tours that are perfect for beating the summer heat. However, if you’re interested in exploring the northern reaches of North America or Europe, act fast – spots on these tours fill up quickly and those warm “dog days” are approaching faster than you think!

Exploring Iceland

Iceland is a surprising, even astonishing land; one of massive glaciers and rumbling volcanoes, bubbling mud holes and powerful waterfalls; hugely abundant bird life and just 340,000 people; and where the sun never sets for six splendid weeks. It’s also perfect for exploring in a small group, as we discover traveling the breadth of the country and getting an up-close view of this natural “wonderland.”

Untamed Alaska

Alaskan brown bears, Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

Awe-inspiring natural beauty and outdoor adventure await as we explore Alaska’s varied landscapes and noteworthy cities. From Denali, Wrangell-St. Elias, and Kenai Fjords national parks to the energy of Anchorage and scenic Seward, our small group encounters the breadth and beauty of America’s Last Frontier.

The Canadian Maritimes

Peggy's Cove Lighthouse, Nova Scotia, Canada

Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island make for a scenic and history-infused journey. We explore fishing villages and port cities, French fortifications and colonial British settlements, and travel to secluded Prince Edward Island and rugged Cape Breton on this classic route.

Norwegian Splendor

Geirangerfjord, Norway

As the Midnight Sun turns night into day, Scandinavia shines. It’s the perfect time to visit, with the majestic countryside at its loveliest and the cities at their liveliest. From the cosmopolitan capitals of Copenhagen and Oslo to Norway’s magnificent fjord country, our small group encounters Scandinavia at its best, both on and off the beaten path.

Canadian Rockies Explorer

Maligne Lake, Canadian Rockies

One of North America’s great unspoiled wildernesses, the Canadian Rockies offer bountiful rewards for outdoor-loving travelers. While staying in unique mountain lodges, we ride in Glacier National Park’s famed Red Jammers, visit cerulean Lake Louise, and set foot on Athabasca Glacier. Amid stunning alpine scenery, it’s a feast for the eyes – and the spirit.
