If these walls could talk, oh the stories they’d tell. Originally opened as Grand Hôtel Steiner in February of 1927 and situated just a 5-minute walk from Old Town Square, Grand Hotel Bohemia has long been a Prague staple, playing host to movie stars, politicians, and the who’s who of elite Czech society for nearly a century. And for three nights on our Journey through Central Europe small group tour, it’s our home base while we explore the Czech capital.

The neo-Baroque Boccaccio Ballroom serves as the centerpiece of Grand Hotel Bohemia. From the beautifully restored statuary to the fine crystal decor, the polished parquet floors to the ornate central chandelier, this opulent hall has made several appearances on the silver screen, including in the 1983 Czech film Angel in a Devil’s Body. Today, Boccaccio Ballroom is the only part of Grand Hotel Bohemia to have been preserved in its original form.
Each of the 79 luxurious guest rooms features dark wood furniture and light upholstery, with air conditioning, a private bath, hair dryer, minibar, in-room safe, TV, and phone. The hotel also offers a range of guest amenities, including a restaurant, two bars, laundry service (for a fee), and complimentary Wi-Fi internet access.
