Know Before You Go: Audio Devices on Odysseys Tours

In addition to translating, managing the group, and answering guests' questions, one of your tour director’s most important jobs is to impart crucial knowledge about the sites you visit on tour. But between contending with ambient noise and projecting their voice while the group is spread out, it can be tough for your tour director to be heard without help. That’s where on-tour audio devices come in.

Odysseys Unlimited provides audio devices with headphones for guests to use on most tours. These headsets enable you to hear the commentary offered by your tour director or guide during visits to museums, historic sites, and other stops on your tour where crowd noise may make it difficult to hear. They also allow you to stay a few steps behind as your group moves forward.

While we can’t guarantee that we’ll issue audio devices to guests on every tour, if we do, chances are your tour will utilize one of the two following headset styles. Read on to learn more about each one.

Over-the-Ear Headphones

The reliable, easy-to-wear over-the-ear headphones we use on tour are designed for maximum comfort during extended use, and each unit is thoroughly sanitized before being issued to a guest.

Earbuds

Delivered in sealed packaging to ensure pristine condition for guests, these lightweight earbuds offer a snug, secure fit to keep them in place during extended use.

We do encourage guests to bring their own personal headphones to ensure comfort and the best sound quality for their individual needs. Please note that if you do bring your own, it will need to be a wired headset with a 3.5mm auxiliary jack connection or aux jack adapter as pictured below.
