“I can’t imagine myself doing anything else,” says Gaetano Salemi of his role as a tour director. “The best part of my job is to see the joy in the eyes of my guests when they see or experience something they may have dreamed of all their life – whether it’s an ancient temple or an amazing dessert!”
A native of Sicily and longtime resident of Palermo, Gaetano loves to surprise his guests by showing them secret areas of well-known places or sharing special stories that make sights and landscapes unforgettable. He explains, “I also love to tell a lot of personal anecdotes – family stories that will make Italy come alive for them. And, I always like to add a couple of special recipes, some of the special Sicilian dishes that I make for family and friends.”

When not on the road with his guests, Gaetano often can be found on the road himself. “I love to travel so when I’m not on tour I like to see as much as I can of the world – especially destinations in South America or Asia.”
