It’s been a while since we last checked in about our employees’ dream trips, so we sat down with some of them to ask where they wish to travel to in the coming year. Nadine says: “I am currently focused on Jewels of Colombia! It’s the perfect mix of culture, history, and time-at-your-leisure, and blends all the things I enjoy – art, nature, culture, history, and vibrant local life. In Bogotá, I am excited to explore La Candelaria and visit the (unreal) Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral – I can’t even begin to imagine standing there, 600 feet deep in a salt mine! Medellín really draws me in with its creativity and natural beauty – I want to visit the Santa Elena Flower Farm, see the city’s street art, and ride the famous Metrocable up into the hills for the incredible views. Lastly, Cartagena feels like the perfect finale, where I can stroll through the lively Getsemani neighborhood filled with performers, murals, coffee, and music, and indulge in a final taste of Colombia: a rum and chocolate tasting experience! I am hoping to go on this tour with my husband soon and explore all the hidden gems along the way.”

Julia says: “As a literary scholar, I’ve always been fascinated by Greek mythology, and subsequently the history of ancient Greece. I would love to learn about and see the elegance of the architecture firsthand, as well as soak in the beauty of the Aegean Sea from the shores of Santorini. The Mediterranean diet contains most of my very favorite foods, so the dining would be a plus, too! I don’t have any plans set in stone, but it is a dream of mine to take Odysseys’ Ancient Greece tour one day.”

Stephen says: “Majestic Switzerland and Alpine Splendor are on my wish list. I have wanted to travel to these destinations since I watched The Sound of Music when I was little. The landscape and scenery is beautiful and I would love to experience it in-person. I have also always wanted to experience the food and culture. I would try skiing or snowboarding if I went to one of these destinations. I plan to try to go there soon.”

Staci says: “I want to take Classic Safari: Kenya & Tanzania – It’s been a dream to travel to Africa and to go on a safari. There is something about seeing majestic wildlife like the Big Five, zebras, and giraffes backdropped by Mt. Kilimanjaro in their natural environment that seems magical. It’s very high on my list!”

Sandy says: “I would very much like to visit Alaska. I’m drawn to the mountains, glaciers, and overall vastness of the state and its wilderness. I would like to hike during the Midnight sun!”

Kiki says: “I would love to visit Italy again. I want to visit different cities in Italy. What’s most appealing is the vast culture, museums, and friendly people. I would love to visit Rome and see the Vatican. Hopefully, I will soon.”

Caitlyn says: “My next dream travel destination is Greece! As a student of history, seeing the Acropolis and the Parthenon are on my ultimate travel bucket list. I would love to experience our Ancient Greece: Santorini and Crete tour since we visit so many interesting archaeological sights while immersing ourselves in Greek culture.”

Riley says: “Iceland has been on my travel bucket list for a bit now, and has only moved up higher and higher after hearing the travel stories of my friends who have been fortunate enough to visit. In my opinion, Iceland has everything you could want in a travel destination: gorgeous scenery, the ability to unwind through outdoor activities, and opportunities for relaxation and engaging with the local culture.”

Delaney says: “I have several dream destinations. My top five would be Peru, the Galapagos, Southeast Asia, Patagonia, and Japan. It’s hard to choose just one place! These destinations are at the top of my travel list because I have yet to travel to South America and Asia. Since it would be new territory for me, I’d feel most at ease and comfortable having an Odysseys Tour Director lead me and show me the best parts of those destinations. I am taking Tanzania Adventure in September, but once that trip is complete, I know I’ll be itching to go on another Odysseys tour!”
